The top model of Viking
The 2005 Gold boot offers everything you would want from a skate boot; It is lightweight, beautifully finished, suitable for driving at high speeds and is praised for its good fit.
The boot is made by hand and is fully thermoplastic, so it will always have a perfect fit like a second skin for the foot gets stuck. The combination of kangaroo leather and Kevlar ensures the stiffness and fit, even after frequent use retained, giving the boot long durability and making it absolutely worth the investment! The boots have a soft calfskin lining and are approximately 120 grams lighter than the 2000 gold boots. This combination with the blade allows for both side to side movement and the front and back as well as back and forth movement thereby allowing the optimal position to be obtained.
The characteristic red anodised bridge is made of 7075 aluminium and has 3 times the tensile strength of ordinary stirrups. Because of this the skate is great for driving at high speeds, and this model is used for example by toppers as Sven Kramer and Ireen Wüst!
This set comes with PM steel 'Sprint' blades. The PM steel has a hardness of 66 HRC (Rockwell C), and contains the alloying elements tungsten, vanadium and carbon which ensure that the steel has a lower coefficient of friction (about 25% lower) than even the normal special steel for blades. This means the blades stays sharp longer and wear less quickly.
The sprint blade has a height of 40 mm (35 mm compared to normal) and makes you stronger and gives more pressure in the corners.
All skates are supplied ready to use; this means bent and rockered (standard curve is 23 meters) If you would like a different radius, then please indicate this when completing your order.
