CBC's newest short track shoe: the Onyx.
The CBC short track shoe Onyx answers the demand for an affordable entry-level CBC short track shoe, specially designed for the following markets: growing children, beginners and/or recreational skaters who wear a shoe size 42 or smaller.
If you're brand new to the sport, or a parent of a growing child looking for a short track shoe that:
a) your child will not shed tears because of discomfort
b) does not cost the main prize
c) will help your child progress faster in sports
Then the Onyx is for you. Please note: The Onyx shoe is less stiff than our Element and Genesis shoes and does not provide the same level of support as our higher impact Element and Genesis models.
If you are a competitive skater who trains 3 or more days a week, check out our Element and Genesis models.
If you wear shoe size 43 or larger, check out our Element and Genesis models. CBC has two World's Best Fitting Last types: standard and 'wide'. In general, our high-quality shoes are narrower in design than competing brands. Why?
Because narrower shoes offer more space in the corners; i.e. less chance of contact with the ice. We offer a "wide" version of our shoe for those who need extra space and/or for those who are looking for more comfort in their high-performance shoe.
What distinguishes the Onyx from similar shoes from competing brands? The sleek, striking appearance, for example. But more importantly, the Onyx, like the Element and Genesis, is hand-built to 'CBC's World's Best Fitting Last'. What does that mean?
