The 2005 Gold boot offers everything you would want from a skate boot; It is lightweight, beautifully finished, suitable for skating at high speeds and is praised for its good fit.
The boot is made by hand and is fully thermoplastic, so it will always have a perfect fit. The combination of kangaroo leather and Kevlar ensures the stiffness and fit, and retains its fit even after many uses, giving the boot durability which makes it absolutely worth the investment! The boots have a soft calfskin lining and are approximately 120 grams lighter than the 2000 gold boots.This combination with the blade allows for both side to side movement and the front and back as well as back and forth movement thereby allowing the optimal position to be obtained.
Maple distinguishes itself mainly in the field of stiffness. The Twin Laser are very hard and stiff (66 Hcr) and therefore very popular among the top skaters; Oa. Koen Verweij, Ronald and Michel Mulder, Shani Davis, Jorrit Bergsma and Bart Swings chose this model for its special shape and torsion-free steel skate tube. The enormous rigidity ensures that it can be developed for more speed and push in the corner, making it easy to achieve high speeds and maintain them. The blade is anodised with gold and is made of steel PM. PM steel has a hardness of 66 HRC (Rockwell C), and contains the alloying elements tungsten, vanadium and carbon which ensure that the steel has a lower coefficient of friction (about 25% lower) than even the normal special steel blades for skates. This means the blade stays sharp longer and wears less quickly.
Because this blade is extremely stiff it is particularly suitable for strong, experienced skaters and racers. For learning the basic technique, we advise a less rigid frame.
All skates are supplied ready to use; this means bent and rockered (standard curve is 23 meters) If you would like a different radius, then please indicate this when completing your order.
