Many Nikes, including this model, have thermoplastic wires (filaments) on the outside of the shoe. These wires act as "suspension bridge cables" that provide precise support wherever it is needed at that moment. The extremely strong Flywire threads of Structure 19 are connected to the individual adjustable lace-eyes. When attracting and lacing the shoe upper pulls the back of the foot around thus creating a better lockdown.
